Just bury me in the sand

It’s cooler below the surface.  White Sands, New Mexico.  Sand dunes far as the eye can see.  Went out there with Uncle James, Silas, Jolene, Thalia, TJ, Calista and Caeden.  We drove out in the morning, and were there just over the lunch hour.  HOT and DRY... me first real desert experience.

Gotta Love the Self Portrait

Crazy times..;. Have been so busy.  We just got back from camping at Lake Conroe for Memorial Weekend.  And it was hot!  And humid!  Lived in the pool, and under the shade tree that was in our campsite.

This month has been crazy with school events, and volunteering at Scholastic Book fair (get free books!!!- so far $150 worth!).  This month has also been busy getting supplies and texts for homeschooling- starting in in July.  For now, we will do 3 week one, 1 week off.  TJ has already expressed a desire to lengthen time to 6 weeks on, 1-2 weeks off.  We shall see.

Also new in my life, is my “new” scouting position as Roundtable Commissioner for the new Red Sky District.  I didn’t have enough to do!

Have 3 days left of school, then on to June.  Then we (kids and I) are off to see Aunty Pearl and Uncle Greg, Cousin Nate and his family in New Mexico.  Then off to Colorado to visit Enos and Leah.  Coming home through Amarillo, and dropping Thalia off at girls camp.  Home in time for

Life and times of me...

Trevor says that I look exactly like I did at 18, just put big thick glasses on and it would be the same.  I guess, that’s good.  I age well- like cheese!  This was a sick day- as in, I got to actually lie down and try and sleep before suppertime!  Trevor took over, and ordered the kids pizza.  Actually Thalia ordered, Trevor paid!  But everyone was very happy at that option.  Thankfully (for health conscious me,)  it doesn’t happen very often.(me being sick, and eating pizza!)

So what is up in my realm.  We bought another house, to rent.  We have yet to get renters.  But we will get there!  Our tenants gave notice on our acreage, and we have put it on the market to sell.  We have a family interested, but nothing solid yet. And we are trying to sell the Yukon- to help pay for the new house.  And of course nothing happening.  Hmmmm.  A theme going on here?!

I stated going to the local college in January to take conversational spanish.  It’s a slow process learning another language-

Gotta Love it!

Let me just catch everyone up with life, starting in the beginning of December..

Dec. 1st, our tenants on our acreage give notice.  Trevor and I decide to put home up for sale.

December 6th, Trevor and I went and picked up our Yukon XL, which was on a consignment car lot.  It hadn’t sold yet, so we thought we would travel more comfortably in the Yukon, than the Tundra.  Couple blocks away Trevor who is driving the Yukon gets rear ended. He then hits me in the Tundra!  Needless to say, we were running late for TJ’s Arrow of Light ceremony.

Next day, we take Trevor’s truck and drive to Baton Rouge, LA.  We park and set up the trailer in the Wal-mart parking lot.  Not knowing there is a busy train tracks on the other side of the trees.

The next day we get to Amy and Matt’s in Georgia.  The visit was not long enough.

Sunday we go to Disneyworld and spend the next 7 days go, go, go!

Get home on Sunday the 16th.  Maria and TJ come on the 18th.  Christmas preparations are

Welcome home- of sorts

Well it’s late.  Just finished my book, my throat is killing me, and the battery is dying in our fire alarm in our bedroom.  Of course we have very high ceilings, and it cannot be reached by standing on our tallest ladder.  Although- if I move the desk over, and put the ladder on it- I might be able to reach it.  I still have my doubts!

The door above is to the house that Trevor and I put an offer to, and are in the long drawn out procedure of preparing to close just before Christmas.  We are convinced that it is a great deal.  The house is in great shape, and the rental market is hot.  Now if only the stupid Yukon would sell!

I am off to make some tea.
